The Cloak of His Protection

It is an illustration to the series "A Song of Ice and Fire" by G.R.R. Martin. Therefore, the characters belong to him... As for me, I just love these books very much.

I never participated in such exchanges before, but "A Song of Ice and Fire" fascinated me so much and it was just fun. You write a small description of what you want to get, an art or a fic, several variants. and you get another description from someone else. Then everyone paints or writes, and in the end everyone is with a small present!
I had a difficult choice though. I am not really a fan of Sansa/Sandor couple. But I wanted to try painting Sansa as she is my favorite female character, and Sandor was a challenge.
When I decided on this couple, I looked through the books again and found quite some interesting moments! In the end I decided on the illustration for the extract from the middle of "A Clash of Kings". Joffrey makes Sansa stand naked in front of everyone, but then Tyrion appears – and whose cloak is the first to cover Sansa?
As for the title, it is taken from Sansa’s thoughts in the chapter with her wedding. She was dreaming about a man who would sweep the cloak of his protection over her shoulders. But haven’t it already happened with you in the past, little bird?
